DETERMINATION OF THE MOST PREVALENT TOOTH SHADE AMONG PATIENTS REPORTING TOA PRIVATE DENTAL INSTITUTION OF MATHURA CITY

Abstract

Introduction: Close match of the natural tooth colour is one of the most important factors to have pleasing aesthetics and for this tooth shade of the individual should be known to fabricate pleasing prosthesis.

Aim and objectives: Aim of this study was to determine the most prevalent tooth shade among the patients, using the VITA Easyshade Spectrophotometer.

Materials and Methods: The VITA Easyshade advance 4.0 spectrophotometer was used for evaluating tooth shade in this study. The participants chosen had both intact maxillary central incisors, with normal tooth morphology. Exclusion criteria were the presence of restorations, fracture, attrition, abrasion, discolouration, and presence of any anomaly. Total 1181 participants who were patients of K.D Dental College and Hospital were chosen for analysis.

Results: Among16-30yrsofagegroupmoreprevalent tooth shade was A1 i.e. 45.9%. Genderwise distribution of shade showed that 39.6% males and 41.8% of females had A1 tooth shade respectively.
