WITKOP TOOTH AND NAIL SYNDROME
A CASE REPORT
Abstract
Witkop syndrome, an autosomal dominant genetic disorder characterized by the absence of several teeth and abnormalities of the nails. It belongs to the family of ectodermal dysplasias, a heterogeneous group of disorders characterized by defects in at least two ectodermally derived organs, such as teeth, nails, hairs, and sweat glands. The present case report aimed at describing a case of a 14-year-old female patient with features of Witkop syndrome affecting the teeth and nails of toe and fingers as it has quite a low rate of occurrence and paucity of clearly delineating features making its identification a real challenge in general population.
