DENTAL EDUCATION IN INDIA

Abstract

The number of dental institutions in India is large and they are governed by regulations framed by Dental Council of India. However, every institute works to develop an education system to meet the guidelines established by Dental Council of India. Quality Assurance, however, is another aspect which is very much required for accreditation from national bodies. I feel the main focus of development in the quality assuranceistowardteachingandlearning. Bychanceresearchhasnotbeengiventhedesiredweightage at undergraduate level, which is, in fact, the most suitable stage to inculcate research mind and develop the research attitude.
