Inclination of Occlusal Plane and its Impact on Smile Esthetic : A Case Report
Abstract
Improving facial esthetics is one of the primary goal of orthodontics and several factors have been proposed to achieve this goal. Instead of focussing only on achieving perfect occlusion or ideal cephalometric values emphasis should be laid onto achieve frontal smile esthetics and study various factors that affect it. This case report determines the influence of the inclination of occlusal plane(IOP) on smile attractiveness and shows how by modifying the IOP we could achieving better facial esthetics or smile to be precise. Hence, this concept of IOP should be kept in mind while doing treatment planning and should be modified according to treatment needs.
