RECONSTRUCTION AND REPLANTATION OF COMPLICATED CROWN-ROOT FRACTURED CENTRAL INCISOR
A CASE REPORT
Abstract
Trauma to the tooth continues to be the common occurrence that every dentist must be prepared and treat when necessary. Among them, the trauma resulting in crown-root fracture is one of the most challenging fracture types. Reattachment of tooth fragment to a fractured tooth remains as the treatment of choice for this type of trauma because of its simplicity, natural esthetics, and conservation of tooth structure. In this case report, an unusual oblique complicated crown root fracture was treated by endodontic treatment and restoration of tooth extra orally followed by reimplantation of 21. One year clinical and radiographical follow-up showed an asymptomatic tooth and gingival reattachment in the area of the fracture with no sign of ankylosis.
