SURGICAL MANAGEMENT OF SKELETAL CLASS II MALOCCLUSION
A CASE REPORT
Abstract
Correction of severe skeletal problems is limited. Orthognathic surgery is a wise option when growth is completed. The case discussed in this article reached us with an unsatisfactory fixed mechanotherapy carried out elsewhere, which was treated by us through surgery i.e. the bilateral sagittal osteotomy with genioplasty. The Patient presented with forwardly placed upper front tooth and midline spacing. He was undergoing orthodontic treatment with metal brackets. On extra oral examination he had mesocephalic, mesoprosopic, incompetent lips, convex facial profile, Intraorally he had End-on canine and molar relationship, increased overjet, deep bite. After the orthodontic and surgical correction patient was much satisfying and noticed dramatic changes in his facial profile.
